We work with motivated individuals and couples who are gridlocked in the same painful conflicts over and over, struggling with loss, trauma, life transitions or feeling stuck. You want a therapist who can help you develop skills, change patterns, find calm, grow individually and in relationships.

We have a location in North Central San Antonio, and also provide telehealth. We provide high-quality, private-pay and insurance services to adults, couples, and children/adolescents. Requirements include being fully licensed in the State of Texas, preferably with private practice experience.

The ideal candidate would like a private practice atmosphere. Compensation is percentage based on income received and paid out twice monthly. The ideal candidate must have a niche(s) market for counseling services preferably trauma, anxiety/depression, life transitions and couples. We aim to serve children, adults and couples in these niches. Although Breath of Hope will offer referrals, the candidate must be willing to market themselves to grow their referral base and recognition in the community. Candidates must be growth minded, collaborative and interested in a long term experience at the practice.

Responsibilities

1.Client Progress Tracking:

a. Improvement in symptom severity scores (e.g., PHQ-9, GAD-7). Assessments are offered on the EHR system at BOH.

2.Crisis Management:

a. Timeliness and effectiveness in responding to client crises.

3. Collaborative Care:

a. Communication with other healthcare providers when needed.

b. Referrals for additional services or specialists when needed.

c. Engagement in multidisciplinary treatment planning and case conferences.

d. Maintaining good working relationships with support networks, government resources, or community resources.

Clinical Standards

4. Ethical Guidelines Compliance:

a. Adherence to confidentiality regulations (e.g., HIPAA).

b. Implementation of informed consent procedures.

c. Respect for client autonomy and rights in decision-making processes.

5.Evidence-Based Practice Implementation:

a. Utilization of empirically supported interventions.

b. Regular participation in continuing education and professional development.

c. Integration of research findings into clinical decision-making.

d. Perform on-site clinical counseling services and Telehealth to patients of BOH, as scheduled, and in accordance with company policies. Counseling services may include individual, couple and family therapy, workshops, groups, online classes.

e. Regular and reliable attendance and timely arrival to work is required.

f. Establishes positive, trusting rapport with patients while listening and understanding them.

g. Evaluating patient through conversations, interviews, and observations to determine correct testing or examination

h. Diagnoses and treats mental health disorders.

i. Setting patient goals and creating individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances. The treatment plan may include counseling, medication or other services.

j. Meets with clients regularly to provide counseling, treatment and adjust treatment plans as necessary.

k. Follows all safety protocols and maintains client confidentiality.

l. Conduct and regulate counseling services in a professional manner so as to maintain and increase the good will and reputation of BOH. Be respectful of and cooperative and collaborative with co-workers.

m. Conducts ongoing assessments of patient progress.

n. Involves and advises family members when appropriate.

o. Helping patients discuss experiences and emotions.

p. Assisting patients through difficult life changes and challenges

q. Educating the patient on strategies and coping skills

r. Maintains thorough records of patient meetings and progress. Timely complete written records for each client including, but not limited to: intake notes, progress notes, treatment plans, termination notes, contract notes, and other forms or documents which may be needed or required from time-to-time by BOH or third parties in conjunction with the treatment of the patient within a timely fashion. Records must be completed within 24-48 hrs of service.

s. Refers patients to outside specialists or agencies when necessary.

t. Contributes to practice by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

6.Documentation Accuracy and Timeliness:

a. Completion of clinical documentation within 24-48 hrs of service.

b. Precision and thoroughness in progress notes and treatment plans. ( Autonotes AI is available to assist with this and makes this easy and professional)

c. BOH documentation standards on EHR.

d. Respond to clients’ requests for service or calls within 24 hours whether such requests are made in person, by phone, voicemail, or text.

f. Regular and reliable attendance and timely arrival to work is required.

7.Risk Assessment and Management:

a. Frequency and thoroughness of suicide risk assessments.

b. Implementation of safety plans for clients at risk of harm to self or others.

c. Compliance with mandated reporting requirements for suspected abuse or neglect.

Professionalism in the Workplace:

8. Boundary Management:

a. Maintenance of appropriate therapeutic boundaries with clients.

b. Handling of conflicts of interest or dual relationships ethically.

c. Demonstrated professionalism in interactions with colleagues.

d. Dress business/casual when in the office.

10.Continuing Education and Skill Development:

a. Pursuit of advanced certifications or specialized training.

b. Regular attendance at monthly meeting /peer consultation sessions.

c. Demonstrated openness to feedback and willingness to engage in self-improvement.

d. Be properly licensed and abide by all state laws rules, regulations and codes of ethics that are binding upon or applicable to the services performed for BOH.

e. Complete continuing education courses to maintain Texas state board(s) license and stay up-to-date on the latest practices.

10.Self-Care Practices:

a. Implementation of self-care routines to prevent burnout.

b. Seeking support from mentors or colleagues during challenging cases.

11.Interprofessional Collaboration:

a. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

b. Communication skills in facilitating collaboration with other professionals.

c. Respect for the expertise and contributions of other healthcare providers.

12.Professional Ethics:

a. Upholding professional integrity in all interactions and decision-making processes.

b. Demonstrating honesty and transparency in professional conduct.

c. Ethical treatment of all clients.

13. Compensation and onboarding

1. Clinician must have progress notes and treatment plans completed before submission of invoice to BOH for compensation.

2. Clinicians will get paid twice a month on a percentage of billable client hours.

3. Upon onboarding, clinicians will be credentialed with several insurance panels. It will take 60 days. During that time you will be onboarded to learn how things work at the practice. You are able to take on private pay clients during that time.

Marketing for Private Practice:

14.Online Presence:

a. Market oneself with BOH in some of the following ways: Contributions to the website blog. Ability to provide workshops/online classes with niche population one time per year. OR Attend a networking event to represent BOH.

b. Provide a headshot and bio for BOH webpage.

15.Networking and Referral Development:

a. Building relationships with other healthcare professionals for referrals. BOH will offer mixers to help with this.

b. Participation in community events/workshops, OR collaboration with local business/organizations to increase visibility to reach potential clients.

16. Client Engagement and Retention Strategies

1. Offering promotions or discounts for new clients to encourage engagement if needed.

Qualifications

• Current State of Texas license as a PhD, PsyD, LCSW, LMFT or LPC, or LMFT.

• Prior private practice experience is a plus

• Advanced Training in Gottman, EFT, EMDR, Play therapy, or IFS, DBT or a additional training that enhances your niche is highly preferred

• Required education: Master's or Doctorate

• Hours: Work hours and schedule are flexible. Hours include 1 evening and/or weekend day, but quality of life is strongly encouraged (not more than one evening per week).

• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling

• Current with all state licensing requirements, including LPC, LCSW and LMFT

Work Hours:

1. Full time status preferred: Willing to manage caseload of 18+ clients per week (and at least one evening/weekend.)
