Welcome to your safe, personal retreat where a cozy, comfortable sofa, soothing music, fresh aroma and coffee/soda awaits your arrival! Also awaiting you is a counselor who is warm, creative, humble, engaging and passionate about helping people. Life can be difficult. Past events, traumatic experiences, negative attitude/beliefs, addictions or destructive behaviors can be detrimental in all aspects of life, driving a person's behavior and thinking in ineffective ways. Counseling can provide a "sacred space" to begin sorting out issues of the heart so that freedom can begin to take hold and hope and contentment is restored. For those who desire, Christian principles can be integrated into treatment. Solutions are explored that fit for you. Carl Rogers stated, "The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change." Using both verbal and non verbal evidence based therapies, in therapy, utilizes two different parts of the brain, making therapy more integrated and effective. Such experiences can be processed in a way that allows you to assign a new meaning to a painful past. Approaches such as, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Feeling State Addiction Therapy, the use of play in therapy, sand tray therapy, Gottman Method, in couples therapy, Integral Breath Therapy and other creative and expressive modalities help remove unhelpful beliefs and encourage healing. Breath of Hope Professional Counseling works with children, teens, adults, couples and families. Some of our clinicians also have experience working closely with 12 step programs for family members, and children/teens affected by addictions and those recovering from addictions. You are commended for your courage and look forward to the privilege of working with you!
